The most important part……photos!
So….at the end of the day, usually the most important part of your wedding (other than the actual wedding) is the photographer. Later, you could lose some of your gifts, your bouquet, or even your wedding dress, and still be okay because you STILL have your photographs. For me, choosing the photographer was one of the most important pieces of my wedding puzzle. It was a little hard for me because I had quite a few friends who were photographers, and who would have jumped at the chance to take part in my wedding. But I didn’t want to just jump at any offer. I wanted a photographer who me and my fiance could get along and have fun with. That way, our personalities could show through our photos. The last thing you need on your wedding day is a strange photographer who makes you both uncomfortable. So…. my hunt began. The wedding was in Las Vegas, which is a large enough city that I would definitely have my choice of photographers. The first thing I did was went back to my friend’s who were photographers. A lot of them were very talented, so I thought I would just double check and see what they had to offer. I only considered those who had an actual website. For me, it showed that they were still professional enough to make sure the job gets done! That’s when I stumbled upon a friend’s website: www. ChauntelleGrafPhotography.com. I immediately fell in love with her photography style. All of her photos were full of color and laughter, which was exactly what I was looking for. Me and Chauntelle were more acquaintances than close friends, but I wasn’t too worried. Because what I knew about her was enough…..she was a BLAST! I quickly shot her an email and asked her a billion questions. She was so great and helped me find out more of what I wanted. Another tip I would give to you…. find a photographer who is flexible. Our photographer asked me what I wanted and then made a package just for me around that. Our final choice was: Photos after the ceremony (about an hour and a half), coverage of the reception (2 hours), 10 photos of my choice edited by her, and all of the images from the entire day on a CD (sooooo many photos!)……..all for $500. It was such a great deal! Many photographers could offer that same package, but at a much higher price. Chauntelle was kind of just starting to build her wedding photography portfolio, so she was more than willing to work anything out with me. It was so great having a photographer who was just relaxed and fun, and made us laugh. Our pictures turned out so great because of it!
